Chelsea vs. Southampton: Opposition threat
By Jack Deery
Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard has raw, natural talent that make him one of the best players in the world, in my opinion. Often linked to huge clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona, make the Belgian one of the hottest prospects in the world. Still at the fairly young age of 26, there is still a lot of room for Hazard to grow and get even better.
His low centre of gravity and lightening-quick feet make him extremely hard to defend against. He can use both feet very competently which means defenders struggle to know which way he is going, making it simple for him to knock it past them and cause problems.
The former-Lille man predominately played as a winger up to now in his career, however Conte has given him a different role this season. Hazard has played just off of the main striker, in what seems to be quite a free role in the centre of the pitch. This has allowed Hazard to drift inside and out making him very difficult to track and mark.
Southampton defenders have got an extremely hard job to try and contain this man. However, stifling him could be the key to success for Mauricio Pellegrino’s men.
