It was clear that the Argentine had not done his homework on Leicester City. Especially regarding team selection as Saints looked extremely unbalanced and complacent.

The decision to not play Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was questioned by many as the Danish star has been in great form. Steven Davis and Mario Lemina were opted for instead but were often bullied off the ball too easily by opposition players Shinji Okazaki and Wilfred Ndidi.

Dusan Tadic being favoured again showed Pellegrino’s complacency as the Serbian was half-asked and offered the Saints nothing. This not being the first time, the playmaker should be closer to the exit door than the first team as his desire was awful.

Whilst when three down, Pellegrino’s lack of urgency to make changes at half time was frustrating to watch. Bringing on another striker was a good call, but for a holding midfielder in Romeu, only opened us up more. Wide men Tadic and Sofiane Boufal offered no supply so should’ve been taken off instead.
