Strikers and subsitutes

Some may rate him lower because it was just another game without a goal.  However, his work rate on both ends of the pitch should not get overlooked.  His teammates just don’t seem to connect with his runs like they do with Austin, but he opens up the space off the ball.  Defended well when Chelsea were given a bout of possession, and aided the ball out of the back.. Striker. Southampton. MANOLO GABBIADINI. 7

Substitue Centre-midfielder. Southampton. MARIO LEMINA. 5. Sent into the game early when Cedric exited.  Just does not look like himself though.  Had very little of the ball, and did not provide the expected impact.

7. Came on with a half hour to go in a straight swap with Gabbiadini.  Instantly was given a chance on goal, but Courtois read his intentions the whole way.  Almost tied the game on two other chances set up by Stephens and Boufal.  Still looks most likely player to score.. 7. The Moroccan was a true spark off the bench.  Brought pace, energy, and desire to go forward on the left side.  Put a great touch pass through for Austin, and worked hard defensively.. Substitute Attacking-midfielder. Southampton. SOFIANE BOUFAL
