Charlie Austin

Chaz had somewhat of an up and down game – he’s a debatable choice for this list because he should’ve finished the chance off of Nathan Redmond’s pass and he will also almost certainly be banned for the remainder of the calendar year for his challenge on Lossl.

However, without Austin, the Saints would be a hell of a lot worse off. The forward has five goals in five starts since getting the nod against Everton and his ability as an old-school number nine is difficult to question.

The 28-year-old is the side’s leading scorer this season despite barely featuring in the early stages of the campaign – he’ll be sorely missed assuming he gets a retrospective ban.

However the fact that he’s scoring whenever he starts means he’s pretty swiftly become one of our most important players.
