Wesley Hoedt
Hoedt hasn’t been particularly fond of Pellegrino’s heavy centre-back rotation this season, so here’s to hoping that the Argentine will keep the younger Dutchman in defence from here on out.
The 23-year-old had another stellar game yesterday irregardless of the result, and in truth I’m probably not alone in voicing the opinion that I’d rather him at the back than Virgil van Dijk.
Hoedt boasted an impressive 80 percent passing accuracy whilst also winning five aerial duels over the course of the 90 minutes. He also added nine clearances, two tackles, two interceptions and an assist.
He seems to have formed a fairly solid partnership with Maya Yoshida at the back and the £15 million investment the club made seems to be money well-spent at the moment.
