You can ask Santa for one gift to bestow upon the Saints – it could be absolutely anything. What do you gift the club?

Ed: We really lack in the creative department with our squad and Dusan has not been up to standard for some time now. So I would get Saints, Pascal Gross of Brighton. I think he would make us tick better and play killer balls to help find the likes of Charlie Austin and Manolo Gabbiadini, as they both lack service at times.

Ewan: I would gift the club a unique new stadium, preferably in the heart of the city. St Mary’s holds a lot of precious memories but is almost soulless and very similar to other grounds up and down the country.

Jack: I can certainly think of a couple of things! If I had to narrow it down to one though, I think I would probably go for a consistent, hard-working and creative-minded attacking midfielder. I’m not entirely sure such a thing exists, but Saints would definitely be needing one if it did! It could be a big help to some of our problems we’ve got currently. Although, there is an Argentinian lad at Barcelona who would make a pretty decent Christmas present as well, but I think that might be getting a bit greedy.

Ben K: A world class signing in January, not matter how ambitious it is. In general, Southampton has a decent squad but is one player away from competing for a European place. I’m a fan of Manolo Gabbiadini but if he had a quality forward to support him that would give the team attacking flair. There’s no one like him in football at the moment, but a Dennis Bergkamp-esque player would be fantastic.

Dan: Anything? Probably a creative midfielder in the January window who can score five+ until May and assist a further ten goals.

Marc: Safety for this season. I’m still fairly confident that Saints won’t be dragged fully into a relegation battle even though there have been some tense moments so far. Perhaps if the players and staff knew we were safe, we’d be able to be a bit more positive and even go for an FA Cup run.

Christian: I would give the club a token into the Champions League for one season.

Ben W: First of all, the gift that I would give to the Saints would be Lyon player Nabil Fekir. He is exactly what the Saints are missing right now, and would be able to turn their poor form around.

Erik: Three points at Wembley in convincing fashion.

Nikos: I’m tempted to say ‘goals’! But would go for enough cash to compete with top clubs in the transfer and salary markets.
