We’re only running a match preview for the Spurs game so the pre-match content is a bit thinner than normal. Give us your prediction for the scoreline and the how the game will pan out!?

Ed: We all know that this game could go one of two ways, it’ll either be a thumping of 5-0 or 5-1, but more likely we’ll soak up a lot of pressure and narrowly grab a draw or loss. Instead though I’ll be optimistic, let’s say it’ll be a Christmas miracle, Southampton to win 1-0!

Ewan: I think we will nick an early goal from a set piece, and try and defend it for the full 90 – only to be completely outclassed, leaving the final score about 5-1. Sounds familiar.

Jack: he last time I made a prediction I got it spot on, and that was for the red half of North London. That time I went with 1-1. So, slightly optimistically, I am going to go with a 1-1 draw again. In similar fashion to the Arsenal game too, I think we will take the lead through a Dusan Tadic goal.

Heung-Min Son loves a goal against a mid table side, so after a long and a valiant defensive display by the Saints I think the South Korean will level the game up. This would be a result that we would have to be happy with, but a win at Wembley on Boxing Day could do a lot more for the team than just the three points. As I have a 100% prediction accuracy for Saints Marching, probably best to get your bets on now.

Ben K: Tottenham are going through a dodgy spell with some inconsistent performances. This game comes as a good opportunity for Saints to capitalise on the opposition’s form. A win at home against Huddersfield will put the team in good stead going into the Boxing Day kick-off.  I’m interested to see how Saints play at Wembley but I’m optimistic. Tottenham 1-1 Southampton is my scoreline for the match.

Dan: If we score first and relatively early I think we can successfully soak up the pressure until we concede late on, 1-1 draw.

Marc: Saints will surely play the 3-5-2 that they have against the big teams again versus Spurs. It’s worked well when they’ve used it and Saints have been unlucky in some of those games, but it’s been mainly their finishing that has stopped them from getting more points against the likes of Arsenal.

Spurs are a strong side again this season and play good football most of the time. They aren’t flawless though, and a disciplined Saints performance could get a result. As it’s Christmas, I’ll go for a fairly optimistic prediction of 1-1, with Charlie Austin and Harry Kane scoring.

Christian: 2-2. I think Saints might go down by a goal or two in the first half, but bring it back to 2 all before the final whistle.

Ben W: As for Boxing Day, 2-0 Spurs. Will be 0-0 for the first half and we’ll defend well but can see us fizzling out in the second half while Tottenham capitalise.

Erik: purs 2-2 Southampton.  Saints play inspired football in their return to Wembley. Gabbiadini gets his first goal since Newcastle brace.

Nikos: When we played them just after Christmas last year, we lost 4-1 at home and Redmond got sent off, so hopefully this time will be different. Having said that, I’m not feeling confident after the results on Saturday. I hate to say it, but I’m predicting a straightforward home win for Spurs.

If you’ve made it this far, well done! Once again, have a good Christmas.
