Harry Lewis – Dundee Utd

Aside from the league performance of their respective clubs, Harry Lewis’ story couldn’t be much further from Jordy Clasie’s. Dundee United currently sit second in the Scottish Championship, three points behind St. Mirren with a game in hand.

Since the start of the season Lewis has been first choice stopper at Dundee United, relegating the more experienced Denis Mehmet to just cup appearances. He has certainly earned his continued place on the team sheet too, keeping seven clean sheets in his 22 starts.

In addition, the Dundee club have conceded the least goals in the league so far – only 17 in 19 games. And much of the credit goes to 20-year-old keeper.

The next 16 league games are a real opportunity for Harry Lewis to earn himself a place in the hearts of Dundee United fans. If the team can keep up their form and win a home fixture against St. Mirren on 3rd March they’ll very likely win promotion back to the top flight.

It would be really positive if Lewis returns to Saints after a successful campaign and a full season of good performances. I’d like to see him go on loan at a slightly higher level next season, before assessing whether he can make the grade at Southampton.
