Sam Gallagher – Birmingham City

If Norwich fans are disappointed by their club’s performance so far, Birmingham fans must be really despondent.

Sam Gallagher spent last season on loan at Blackburn, who were eventually relegated. Despite a terrible season for the club, Gallagher stood out as one of the positives. He made 43 appearances, scoring 12 goals and setting up another four.

This season he is in danger of getting relegated with another well-known name, but without the goals to show for his efforts. Birmingham are 23rd in the Championship, and Gallagher has only four goals in 19 appearances.

The significant positive is that three of those goals have come in his last four games. After a slow start to the season, Gallagher will now be hoping to keep his recent form up and lift his team out of danger. And if he can reach the same tally as his Blackburn haul he should be delighted.

Like Harrison Reed, the lofty striker is now 22. He needs to use the rest of the season to prove he has the ability to consistently reach double figures at Championship level at least.
