Guido Carrillo

Carrillo has been strongly linked with a reported £17 million move to Southampton from current French champions Monaco.

Interestingly, the Argentine played under current Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino at Estudiantes and scored over 30 goals for the side in their two years together. He is an attacking option that Pellegrino clearly trusts, having made around 80 appearances for his team.

The 26-year-old plays as a striker and at 6’2″, could provide the Saints squad with an aerial option. This is something they don’t currently possess in their ranks, and Carrillo has also proven to be an instinctive finisher when presented with opportunities.

He boasts a goal or assist every 166 minutes over his career, and has managed eight goals in all competitions this season despite limited game time.
