Southampton claimed a second league draw in a row with a 1-1 result against Tottenham Hotspur at St. Mary’s.

All the action came inside 20 minutes as Davinson Sanchez directed a dangerous Ryan Bertrand cross past Michel Vorm to give Southampton a shock lead. However, just three minutes later Spurs equalised through Harry Kane, who shook Jack Stephens and nodded home.

Stephens almost made amends when his header looped just wide, but it was one of many good chances Saints missed throughout the 90 minutes, failing again to claim the elusive three (much needed) points.

17-year-old Michael Obafemi entered the fray with eight regulation minutes remaining and could have been the difference between the two sides, but he couldn’t quite get a touch on Dusan Tadic’s inviting cross – which flashed past goal.
