Christopher Jullien

For anyone who follows me on Twitter or has read Saints Marching’s ‘perfect January window‘ piece knows that Jullien is my pick if we are to bring in a new centre-back before the window slammed shut.

Not only would Jullien be reasonably-priced, but the Frenchman ticks a lot of the boxes for the Saints. At six-foot-five he could help improve the Saints’ aerial troubles, with the Saints regularly struggling to deal with corners or physical strikers.

Jullien should be available for a small amount less than Southampton’s deal for Wesley Hoedt, which seems the perfect amount to spend on a new defender.

At 24 the Toulouse man still has plenty of time to grow before reaching his prime, whilst still boasting nearly 200 league games of experience.
