Alfie Jones
Jones is a centre-back who is also comfortable playing in midfield, and this ability to play both positions means he is very capable at playing out from defence.
He has been at the club since Under-9 level, and has been handed the first-team squad number of 32 this season.
The 20-year-old has made 16 appearances for Saints’ u23 side so far this campaign including against senior opposition in the EFL Trophy. He has also worn the captains armband on a number of occasions.
First-team opportunities could come in the FA Cup during Saints’ fourth-round tie with Watford this weekend or in future rounds.
