A cup run would be amazing!

Now that it’s confirmed that we’ll play at least three FA Cup games in a single campaign for the first time in a handful of seasons, we could probably now officially call our spell in the competition a cup run.

With the likes of Coventry and Wigan going through and Notts County, Rochdale and Newport having replays, the possibility of having an easier tie is great.

Of course, there are still plenty of Premier League sides and a handful of Championship sides left but, and I think that I speak for a lot of fans here, it would be preferred to get a lower league side than a fellow Premier League outfit.

Having said that, we’ll give it a go against any side at home but it’s the possibility of an away tie that worries me slightly, especially against a Man City – at least we can’t draw Liverpool!

It hasn’t been near good enough in the league this season and so success in another competition may bring back some morale in both the fans and the players.
