Mario Lemina

The Gabonese international has left Saints fans perplexed over recent weeks as to why he hasn’t started every game all season.

The performance from West Brom and the 55 minutes he played against Liverpool were exactly what Southampton have been missing this season. A bit of confidence and drive to win the ball back and push the team forward was so effective on Sunday that the majority of Saints’ best chances started from him.

The former-Juventus man stood out from both midfields, which got a lot of Saints fans wondering if he’s the next one to leave for Merseyside. He’s had a few exceptional performances this season and it’s easy to see why Juventus ended up buying the midfielder.

Free from injuries or illness, Southampton will be hoping that this man will have enough drive to get them out of the bottom three, something he has shown he is probably capable of.
