A shuffle up in the schedule

Southampton’s next five Premier League opponents are littered with six-pointers:

  • February 24th at Burnley
  • March 3rd vs. Stoke
  • March 10th at Newcastle
  • March 17th at Swansea (FA Cup weekend)
  • March 31st at West Ham

However, with the FA Cup victory, the run of games that could decide the club’s League standing next season, will thankfully be broken up.

Let’s assume Manchester City beats Wigan on Monday in the FA Cup, because they are good…

Swap the tough trip to Wales against in-form Swansea, for a no expectation, no pressure game, and it might be just the relief the players need.
