Mario Lemina

The Gabonese international enjoyed another good day at the office on Saturday, with him and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg proving they could function as a two without the more defensively-disciplined Oriol Romeu.

Both Lemina and PEH have the tendency to drift forward meaning they were required to be more rigid against West Brom’s midfield on Saturday and they duly delivered, with Lemina having the narrowly better of the two players’ afternoons.

Lemina completed 83% of his passes but was also more than efficient on the defensive side of things – making seven clearances  in addition to three interceptions.

The 24-year-old has arguably been Southampton’s player of the season and his performances over the last month have only reasserted that.
