Disappointment is an understatement for describing the emotions of thousands of Southampton fans as they left St.Mary’s after a 0-0 stalemate with fellow strugglers Stoke.

After what had been a game hyped by the club as “huge” that saw little quality from both sides, Saints find themselves one point above the relegation zone and are somewhat lucky that 18th placed Crystal Palace face Manchester United on Monday night.

Southampton enjoyed much more of the ball and had many more opportunities on goal but lacked that killer touch once again.

Guido Carrillo went another appearance without scoring, doing little to silent his critics having now gone seven games without scoring since this record move from Monaco.

But who really didn’t show up on Saturday and who made an effort?
