After a lacklustre performance last weekend against Stoke City, bringing three points back from the trip north would give some relief for the players and fans ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Wigan.

The Saints are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League matches against Newcastle in a run that dates back to the 2012/13 season, and have been notably more comfortable playing on their travels this campaign.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s side are unbeaten in four away games, whilst hosts Newcastle are unbeaten in their last four home matches. The sides are separated by just one place and one point, so a win for either side would clearly give a psychological advantage.
