On Saturday afternoon Southampton slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham – another team desperately fighting for their Premier League survival.

With Charlie Austin having returned to the starting XI and Mark Hughes’ side showing positive signs in the win over Wigan in the FA Cup, the supporters went into the game confident.

However the Saints were totally dismantled at the London Stadium, down by two goals within 17 minutes thanks to both Joao Mario and Marko Arnautovic. The latter added a third right before half-time, with Southampton being the authors of their own downfall.

The Saints are still yet to win a league game in 2018 – a worrying statistic having now reached April with league games against Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City to come in the remaining fixtures.

The performance at the weekend was particularly worrying – several players including Wesley Hoedt and Mario Lemina made glaring errors which led to West Ham goals – if both had better games than the two chances could’ve been avoided.

But despite what seemed like a totally abysmal performance, did anyone have a respective afternoon?
