Cedric Soares

The right-back has drawn criticism as of a late for his poor performances but he was brilliant on the front foot yesterday, contributing his first two assists of the season and perhaps being the Saints’ best player of the afternoon.

The Portuguese man regularly fires crosses into the box without much success, especially as the Saints lack a natural target man with none of their forwards being exceptional in the air.

However yesterday the ex-Sporting full-back was able to find both Austin and Long for their goals, a positive change from what’s previously been seen this campaign.
