Improvements are there, but is it too late?

Southampton have been, if anything, impressive on the whole against Arsenal and Chelsea. Granted, they were poor against West Ham and Wigan in the first half, but they have definitely improved.

Sadly, this kind of improvement would’ve been helpful around Christmas and the new year, but with just five games left this campaign it might just be too little too late.

Even with wins against the likes of Leicester and Bournemouth, the Saints would still need results to go in their favour in order to get out of the drop zone. The performances are definitely better than that under Pellegrino but the move should’ve definitely been made sooner.
