Yesterday night Southampton played out to a goalless draw with Leicester City, keeping their first clean sheet in some time and earning a valuable point.

After the result in the reverse fixture, Southampton fans were probably happy to watch a less eventful match, after the Foxes scored four at St. Mary’s last time out when Claude Puel had not too long been in charge.

Southampton were relatively uninspiring on the day, managing just two shots on target and struggling to get a hold on the game.

Leicester were threatening as ever managing more possession and attempts on goal but with the Saints setting up to frustrate and counter, they limited the Foxes’ clear-cut opportunities.

The point will be valuable but it relies on Swansea struggling in their next two fixtures – Manchester City and Chelsea. If the Saints can pick up at least a point more than them before the two teams meet next month and then beat the Welsh side, they could leapfrog them to sit 17th.

But looking back to yesterday, who stood out?
