Mario Lemina

Back to his early season form after looking disinterested at Wembley last weekend.

He provided athleticism and energy in midfield and was still running in the final stages of the game. His driving runs forwards and Romeu’s solidity worked well even if Hojbjerg was unlucky to miss out after his recent form.

The Gabon international almost grabbed himself a goal too. The ball dropped to him just outside the area in the first-half and he unleashed a powerful half-volley that Begovic tipped wide.

Good competition in the midfield at this vital stage of the season can only be good for Saints, and there’s no doubting that Lemina is a great asset in this mood.
