Tomorrow evening Southampton travel to Goodison Park desperate for any points in their bid for survival.

Assuming the Saints can match Swansea’s scoreline when the Welsh side face Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon, Southampton could leapfrog the Swans with a positive result on Tuesday night.

In their way are an eighth-placed Everton side who have struggled for consistent form – Sam Allardyce has produced the results when mattered but the football has been relatively uninspiring for a team who has spent north of £100 million over the summer and January windows collectively.

Mark Hughes will hope his Southampton team go into the game with fire in their bellies, with the Bournemouth result last weekend sure to have given those involved a real confidence boost.

For the supporters the win has given them a sense of optimism but the odds are still stacked against the Saints, meaning a draw is the absolute minimum that the side can come away with tomorrow. Survival needs to be all-but wrapped up by Tuesday evening with the season’s conclusion against Manchester City.

But looking to Everton tomorrow, who should the Saints be wary of?
