With Southampton having won their crucial six-pointer against Swansea midweek, they enter the final day of the season looking extremely likely to stay in the Premier League for another campaign, par a heavy defeat from their visitors Manchester City this Sunday.

The Saints would also have to see Swansea beat the already relegated Stoke City by a high margin also to pull off what looks like the impossible escape – though it can be argued that the south-coast club should not complacent against Pep Guardiola’s title winning team.

The Sky Blues arrive at St. Mary’s with nothing to play for in particular, as mentioned having won the league a mere few weeks ago, and having set a few records for most points, goals and wins in a single 38-match campaign – meaning it will be hard to know how they turn up on the day.

However, City’s Spaniard manager is renown for being extremely competitive no matter the circumstances, and could therefore put Saints at risk of a heavy defeat, or mere at least spoiling the ‘staying up party’ – so which players could do that bidding?
