St Mary’s back to its vibrant self

After a shocking start to the season, it was nice to see an upbeat atmosphere at St Mary’s again on Sunday.

This has been the case for the whole of the final two months of the season since Mark Hughes’ arrival but no pressure with Swansea losing meant more enjoyment for the capacity crowd.

In previous seasons when the team had been riding high, St Mary’s became a fortress for the team as fans enjoyed flowing, attacking football under the likes of Ronald Koeman and Mauricio Pochettino.

A successful summer and the return of Hughes on a permanent basis will see that return again next season, and that can only be a help to a Saints squad with talent.
