Alireza Jahanbakhsh

The Iranian winger should arguably be the Saints first-choice back-up if a deal for Promes falls through, after the 24-year-old has enjoyed an incredible campaign in the Eredivisie.

Jahanbakhsh scored 21 goals in 33 league appearances for AZ Alkmaar, enough to make him the first Asian player to win the Golden Boot in a major European League.

Despite this, the forward could still be available for between £15-20 million, with AZ only finishing third despite his goal-scoring efforts and by only being under contract for another two years.

Jahanbakhsh is direct and possesses immense pace which is exactly what the Saints need – at 24 he still has plenty of room to grow and would therefore be a great investment by Southampton.
