25-year-old Verdi is another really solid option for Southampton in their search for a new winger, having impressed this season with Bologna.

He notched up ten goals and ten assists, and impressive milestone for any player in any league – as a result he was directly involved in exactly half of his side’s goals last season.

Once again pacey but also incredibly two-footed, this adds a different dimension to his game which makes him unpredictable on the front foot.

Like Promes however he’d probably be the most expensive transfer on this list having only joined Bologna last summer, and having also impressed in the Serie A whilst not with one of the league’s big boys.
