McQueen move to Bristol City unlikely

There were widespread rumours of Sam McQueen moving to Bristol City early in this transfer window but the deal now looks unlikely.

According to Bristol Live, previous reports of a McQueen being a target for Lee Johnson’s side are wide of the mark despite their search for a new left-back.

With Ryan Bertrand and Matt Targett potentially being first and second-choice for Saints in the upcoming season, a loan or permanent move for McQueen could still be a possibility if he sees his chances of playing being limited.

The 23-year-old made eight appearances in 2017/18 and often came on as a substitute late on in matches. His only start came in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United in December.
