Angus Gunn

Saints seem to be keen to bring another goalkeeper to St Mary’s during this summer and this link would back that up.

According to Goal.com, they are interested in completing a £15m deal for young Manchester City shot-stopper Angus Gunn. The report also states that a buy-back clause will be included though and would mean that City could make the fist move to sign him from Saints in the future.

Current Saints number 2 Fraser Forster was replaced in the team’s starting line-up in December and has failed to get his place back following some indifferent form.

It is also believed that Forster is one of the club’s highest earners and it would therefore be in their favour to replace him with a younger and cheaper alternative.

An impressive loan spell for Gunn at Norwich City during the last campaign saw him make 51 appearances and keep 16 clean sheets in all competitions.
