A new Centre-Back is needed by Saints during this window and the Borussia Mochengladbach man would certainly fit the bill.

According to ESPN, both Saints and Everton have made offers for Vestergaard and will go head-to-head for his signature.

Standing at around 6ft 5in, the Danish international would certainly add an aerial presence in both defence and attack for Mark Hughes’ side.

The 25-year-old has 16 caps for his country but has spent all of his senior career in Germany with spell at Hoffenheim, Werder Bremen and now Mochengladbach.

Vestergaard is currently with the Danish squad at the World Cup in Russia but has not made an appearance at the tournament as the team progressed to the knockout stages.
