Daniel Podence

Currently very strongly linked with a move to either Greece or to the Championship’s Nottingham Forest, Podence still remains a potential option for the Saints.

The Portuguese winger was one of several players to have left their contracts with Sporting Lisbon through just cause following the end-of-season fallout at the club. The likes of Bas Dost and Gelson Martins are available too, but they’re almost certainly out of the Saints’ reach.

However, Podence could very much be a possibility for the club, and he offers some serious pace and agility as he stands at just five-foot-five.

Last season, in his first senior campaign for Lisbon, he failed to find the back of the net himself but recorded an impressive eight assists – if anything, they are harder to tally up than goals themselves.
