Southampton: How did 3 linked players perform at World Cup?

Xherdan Shaqiri
Shaqiri was, as ever, a key player for Switzerland in attack and was often seen providing some dangerous crosses and passes in the final third.
After playing in four matches, he showed some impressive stats. According to whoscored.com, he made 2.5 key passes and took 3.3 shots per game; putting him 14th and 17th out of all the players to play in Russia for each category respectively.
The 26-year-old also bagged the winner in Switzerland’s Group E clash against Serbia between playing in their draws with Brazil and Costa Rica. However, they were knocked out at the Round of 16 stage by Sweden this afternoon.
The winger has been linked with a move to Saints this summer and it was revealed that he had a £12m release clause in his Stoke City contract.
Shaqiri is likely to move on from the Potters in this transfer window after they were relegated to the Championship last season and Liverpool are also said to be interested in taking him to Anfield.
