Southampton have had a busy transfer window so far, but their business for the summer is far from completed.

You’d be forgiven for forgetting that this year’s transfer window closes earlier than it did previously, and as a result the Saints have until August 9th to do their business, giving the club a week before the campaign starts.

Of course the club can still sell players beyond that deadline assuming they go overseas, however with Mark Hughes today stating that they must sell before their buy, it’s safe to imagine that the club will not let anymore players go beyond that August deadline.

With Southampton no longer competing in European competitions, their squad doesn’t need to be as deep as it has previously, so loyalties may need to be put aside to allow the squad to not be too large ahead of the new campaign.

But on the other hand, the club should almost certainly not be done on the recruitment side of things either – despite the fact that deals for Marlon Santos and Andrea Petagna are dead in the water for their respective reasons.

So, between now and the 9th August, what other business does the club need to do in the transfer market?
