Welcome to the first Saints Marching roundtable discussion of the summer as five of our contributors give their dream deadline day signings.

After last season’s struggles, this summer was always going to be important for the team and the fans, so we’ll also be giving our views on the business done by the club so far.

It’s been an active transfer window up to now, with the addition of four players in Stuart Armstrong, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Jannik Vestergaard and Angus Gunn, and it remains to be seen whether any more players will be arriving before Thursday.

Within this piece, the valuable contributions of Ed Waugh, Nikos Lemanis, Jasper Shiner and site Co-Experts Chris Hughes and Marc Walker will be given as they look forward to a new season watching and covering Saints.
