Marc Walker – Olivier Giroud

A loan deal for Giroud would be most likely with a permanent transfer potentially pricey, but it seems that the Frenchman’s opportunities are going to be somewhat limited in the upcoming season.

He’s so often popped up with vital goals for both Arsenal and Chelsea, and been the nemesis of Saints for a few seasons now. Of all the players still active in the Premier League, he has the most goals against us with eight in 12 games.

With Mark Hughes’ squad needing some extra goals, Giroud would be a proven and excellent laon signing to make and the deal could suit both parties in many ways. It would also stop him scoring against us so often!

It now seems like the club won’t be active in the final days of the window, but they are sure to be tempted is something of note arises close to the deadline.

I have been impressed with the transfer activity so far and many key areas have been added to. However, it just looks like they are missing something additional in attack and the display against Borussia Monchengladbach showed that there is still vulnerability in defence.

Saying that, the team had played three times in a week and I would hope that the added pressure of the first Premier League game against Burnley would kick them into gear.

I feel like Mohamed Elyounoussi and Stuart Armstrong will become vitally important players for the team this season and they certainly have the creative qualities that the side needs at this time. Towering Centre-Back Jannik Vestergaard could also provide a dominant force and a fans favourite at the back.
