Paco Alcacer on-loan from Barcelona

Alcacer has been linked with Saints since last January, and reports of a move for the Spaniard have re-emerged this summer.

The Mirror has suggested that Mark Hughes’ side may make a late bid to take the striker on-loan from La Liga giants Barcelona before Thursday’s deadline.

Other reports have stated that Premier League rivals Watford are also be close to a two-year loan agreement with the 24-year-old that would include an option to buy.

43 goals and 17 assists in 124 games for Valencia earned him his status as one of the most dangerous forwards in the Spanish top-flight, and eventually got him a £27m move to the Nou Camp in 2016.

His first-team opportunities recently have been limited though and he could favour a move to England to become a regular again.
