Fraser Forster to Besiktas/Fenerbahce

Forster has fallen out of favour at St Mary’s and is likely to be third-choice keeper if he stays at Saints for the 2018/19 campaign.

New links from The Sun have highlighted Turkish clubs Besiktas and Fenerbahce as battling for his signature in the final days of the window.

The 30-year-old had been mentioned as a target for Burnley amid their injury crisis in the goalkeeper position, but they have now confirmed the signing of Joe Hart from Manchester City.

Forster lost his place in the Southampton side to Alex McCarthy in December, and the strong form of his Saints teammate meant that he hasn’t been able to regain his place.

A permanent transfer or a loan are said to be options for both clubs at this stage with Saints keen to move him on.
