Harry Maguire

A man now well known across the nation due to his brilliant performances at the 2018 World Cup, Harry Maguire’s ability to both defend and be a threat from set-pieces could have a big hindrance on the outcome of the game.

The former-Hull City man played didn’t miss a single minute of league football last campaign, scoring twice, and winning about 3.1 aerial battles a game (the second highest in the Leicester squad). Although this can be seen as a strong defensive asset, its also a great attacking one as well.

With Southampton’s defensive frailties, there’s a very high chance Maguire will be able to lose his man inside the box when coming up for a free-kick/corner and have an almost unchallenged header on goal – especially due to the fact that the south-coast side’s defence  clearly have not learnt from their errors and laps of concentration from last season – with five-foot-ten Richarlerson heading in the decisive goal  last week around the six-yard box.

However, his main priority is obviously the defensive side of the game. He helped contribute in the foxes 9 clean sheets last season with a very solid 4.6 clearances a game and 1.7 tackles. The role that he played did not go unseen, with his consistent performances making him a mainstay in the England set up and interest from some of the biggest clubs in England.
