Southampton face Crystal Palace in their fourth Premier League game of the season this weekend, still on the hunt for their first win of the campaign.
In the fixture last season the Saints came away as 1-0 winners, but that was during Palace’s winless streak as they enjoyed the worst start to the season of any Premier League side that year.
Roy Hodgson’s side come into the game having already won this campaign, however much like the Saints they go into this weekend’s fixture having suffered back-to-back losses, after beating Fulham on the opening day.
Southampton meanwhile have lost 2-1 to both Everton and Leicester in their last two matches, with the latter of those being courtesy of a 93rd minute winner from England hero Harry Maguire. With an international break right around the corner, Mark Hughes will be desperate for this side to get the win before that fortnight away from the league.
When they return the Saints face Brighton – the side they beat in the Carabao Cup this week – however after that they will face a member of the big six on average every other fixture, meaning the game against the Eagles will be a must-win.
