Jordy Clasie

Although he helped them to the league title, Clasie endured a frustrating season of substitute appearances at Club Bruges last season. This season he has opted for a return to former club Feyenoord, who have employed him as a replacement for star player Karim El Ahmadi.

So far Clasie has been in the starting XI for all seven of Feyenoord’s competitive matches, featuring on the right or in the centre of a three man midfield. He has been solid yet not exhilarating in his performances, and has helped them to an early third position after four league games.

Less impressive was Feyenoord’s foray into Europe this season. Clasie featured in both legs of their Europa League qualification tie against Slovakian side Tencin, losing 4-0 away and drawing 1-1 in Rotterdam.

They did win the Dutch Supercup though, triumphing against PSV via a penalty shoot out. Clasie scored the winning penalty, and will be hoping that sets the tone for the rest of his season.
