Wolverhampton vs. Southampton: Pre-match talking points
By Chris Hughes
They haven’t scored… a lot
Despite possessing some talented wingers and setting up in a dynamic 5-2-3 formation, Wolves have only scored six goals in six games to start the season.
Granted, this is the same as Southampton, but with Wolves’ reputation and the fact that many have touted them for a top-ten finish, you’d expect a more lucrative goal return from the midlands side.
Nonetheless, many have suggested that Nuno’s team could run away as easy victors based upon Southampton’s defensive fragility, however they are yet to score more than one goal in a Premier League game bar the opening day match against Everton. They still pose a threat but if the Saints can remain resolute at the back there’s no reason they can’t keep Wolves out.
