Following an impressive win against Everton midweek, in the EFL cup at Goodison Park, Saints welcome high-flying Chelsea this weekend in one of their toughest fixtures yet of this Premier League campaign.

Mark Hughes’ men have not had the best of fortune in their league endeavours of late, having only picked up one win since the start of the new season against a Crystal Palace side missing their star player, and therefore pressure to pick up points has been magnified in recent weeks.

Especially following a late draw against fellow south-coast club Brighton in the dying embers of the game, that could have been easily seen off – and somewhat poor displays against Liverpool and Wolves, some fans have started to call for change in management, and even a loss against a team as strong as Chelsea will still beckon this stance.

There could be some optimism heading into this game though, given their win on Merseyside soil on Tuesday night, a rare occurrence this being – it might give many the hope that Southampton could do the inedible again and pull off the three points against their London-based visitors this weekend.

Though given Chelsea’s form, and the standard that some of their talents have been playing at as of recent, it won’t be any easy feat for Southampton, and therefore the question must be asked who could potentially deliver the hard-blows at St. Mary’s this Sunday, lets have a look.
