N’Golo Kante – Midfielder
Now from the best player in the league, to the best defensive midfielder in the league.
The Frenchman is somewhat a freak of nature with his insane levels on stamina and endurance, and has been involved in two of the last three title winning sides in Leicester City and his first campaign at Chelsea, where he was brought for a steal of just over £30 million, and would probably cost double of that in today’s market.
Kante enjoyed a successful World Cup where he helped France win the tournament, and despite not being a stand-out performer, was given huge credit from his teammates for his behind-the-scenes role that he played, breaking up play and giving a platform for his fellow midfielders to play on – a role that he’s very effective in for Chelsea.
The former-Leicester City player is a very consistent performer across the board, and trying to get past the holding-midfielder will prove to be difficult for Saints due to his mentioned endurance, pace and ability to recover the ball – having done this 40 times already this campaign for his London-based club.
