Nathan Redmond

Southampton’s poor run of form has greatly masked Nathan Redmond’s upturn in confidence, and as we’ve said before here he’s probably the Saints’ best player this season behind Ings and McCarthy.

Yesterday against Chelsea the English winger was once again lively and source of danger from the home side, although they ultimately couldn’t break down Sarri’s defence and went a third game without scoring in the league.

However the 24-year-old managed two shots over the duration of the defeat and also one key pass – impressive statistics for what seems a comprehensive loss.

However it’s this desire from Redmond that’s promising to see, as last season he appeared totally void of any creativity and this led to him scoring just once all season in comparison to the seven of his debut year.
