Midfielders

Midfielder-Nathan Redmond-8

Nathan Redmond’s consistent performances continued at Craven cottage with the attacker constantly pushing forward, harassing defenders, and looking like a real threat. The Englishman’s work rate and desire were deserving of an ever-elusive goal.

Midfielder-Stuart Armstrong- 8

A penny for Stuart Armstrong’s thoughts if you please. Two cracking goals in the bank and it’s still not enough to get his side a positive result.

It’s not just the top draw strikes that secure the Scotsman high marks, but his ability to link up well with his teammates and his alertness to potential opportunities that sees him marked out for praise.

Armstrong’s quick movement and positive thinking should have rescued his side. Alas he plays for Southampton so that’s a tad more tricky than it should be.

Midfielder-Mario Lemina- 8

Across 90 minutes Lemina barely gave the ball away and was a strong presence in the middle of the park.

Midfielder-Pierre-Emile Højbjerg- 7

Højbjerg had a decent day at the office without managing to find the game altering moment. By no means was the Dane a weak link, but nor did he rise to the level of his midfield colleagues.
