Striker and Substitutes

Striker- Michael Obafemi- 7.5

Obafemi’s inclusion in the starting 11 will have come as a surprise to many ahead of kick-off, but the Irishmen rewarded his manager’s faith with a strong showing.

Though Obafemi didn’t create a chance for personal gain, the forward did at least make a nuisance of himself and played a crucial role with the team’s first. After receiving the ball from Redmond, the 18-year-old jincked away from several defenders before picking out an effective pass to the patiently waiting Stuart Armstrong.

In this one passage of play, the striker showed more presence of mind and grace under pressure then he did in the entirety of Fulham and Leicester combined.

Substitute- Manolo Gabbiadini- 6.5

Coming off the bench with just under half an hour to play, the Italian couldn’t manage to muster too much of a threat on goal.

Substitute- Steven Davis-NA

Arriving on the scene during the second minute of injury time, unsurprisingly, Davis failed to make an impact.
