Southampton may have a new man at the helm, but the same old problems persisted against Cardiff city.

In a game lacking quality, Saints failed to take one of very few good chances before throwing the game away with a foolish mistake.

Ralph Hasenhüttl certainly picked a baptism of fire for his first Premier League posting. While Southampton’s performance against Neil Warnock’s men was as predictable as, life, death, and taxes, it certainly would have given food for thought for Hasenhüttl.
