Alexandre Lacazette

Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette is the other striking option for the gunners.

The 27 year-old had a point to prove coming into the 2018/19 campaign, after being left out of Didier Deschamps World Cup winning squad, and has duly delivered. The former Lyon man has had a hand in eight Premiership goals this season (six goals, two assists) – earning a call up to the national side for their UEFA nations league game against the Netherlands (but was forced to withdraw due to injury).

Despite all this, his involvement in the Europa League during the week suggests he will be left out of the starting eleven to face the Saints – with previously mentioned Aubameyang more likely to get the nod.

However, his super sub fanatics are one to be looked out for. Laccazette has came off the bench to have a crucial impact in two of his last three appearances. During the North London derby, the Frenchman replaced Nigerian teammate Alex Iwobi at half time, and put Arsenal 3-2 up with just fifteen minutes to go – with Arsenal claiming the bragging rights in what ended in a 4-2 triumph.

Just three days after, Laccazette had a similar impact. Once again, he replaced Iwobi in the gunners attacking line, and had a huge part to play in their second goal which put them ahead at Old Trafford (with the dubious goal panel taking the goal off his and giving it to Manchester United’s Argentine Marcos Rojo). The game did go onto finish 2-2, but the impact Lacazette had was irrefutable.
